With all the gloom and doom of the pandemic, lockdowns and attendant wider economic fall-out, it can be all too easy to ignore the good news.
In the mushroom industry it seems as though this year has been one of the best for mushroom sales in nearly 25 years.
One industry source says that this year has been a very good year and even though there have been challenges for the industry - it has responded with typical vigour and met all the challenges head on. Keeping covid out of the mushroom sector has been achieved for the most part, and with demand for the fresh produce soaring, the industry has matched the market needs.
In the year that was in it, that ain’t bad going, at all, at all.
