We all of course are familiar with the humble worms that work as bio-insecticides in the mushroom industry.
A confrere of those nematode worms, is the Caenorhabditis elegans nematode worm which was sent to the International Space Station to take part in a genetic science experiment.
The worm has revealed that “subtle changes” take place in close to 1000 genes.
With stronger effects seen in cells in the nervous system.
The researchers believe that their findings could help understand how humans and other living organisms experience physical decline in space.
The nematode worm is truly one of the wonders of the world.
