Renowned TV gardener Monty Don has joined calls for a ban on peat compost being used for gardeners and professional plant growers.
The celebrity gardener has said that using peat compost amounts to environmental vandalism, and he has joined horticultural and environmental charities calling for a ban by 2025.
Peat continues to male up nearly 45 percent of compost sold to gardeners in 2019.
