Demand for news cars in Britain in November was down nearly 30 percent on the same month last year. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, trade has not been this poor since the 2008 recession.
One slight silver lining is that electric vehicles have bucked the trend. Sales of battery electric and plug-in hybrid cars rose across the UK, up 122.4 per cent and 76.9 percent respectively.
There is hope in the sector that with covid vaccines approved, then consumer confidence will surge again.
