News of a breakthrough in the hunt for an effective vaccine against the coronavirus was greeted with near universal acclaim.
There are many vaccines in the offing, but the news of the Pfizer vaccine definitely lifted people’s mood. The fact that the Pfizer jab will need to be kept cool at minus 70 C has raised some logistical eyebrows - there’ll be new business in the refrigeration sector for sure.
Then news of the Moderna vaccine, with a 94.5 per cent effectiveness against the coronavirus was announced - more cause for mood uplifting. This vaccine is hailed as even more effective and easier to store, at minus 20 C for up to six months..
With several more vaccinations in development hopefully not too far away, the only job now will be convincing sceptical punters to take the jab.
