As always there is a lot of weather watching to see if anyone can determine what we can expect this winter.
Will it be mild, will it be middling, or will it be extreme cold like a decade ago?
Verily one can say that at this point no-one has a clue. One of the signals often mentioned in previous years is whether there’s many berries on the trees and bushes around the land.
Stalker did notice some trees lately laden with berries - for the birds, as they say. But is this a sign of the wet, mild summer and autumn, or is it a harbinger of extreme cold weather to come? It’s anyone’s guess.
