Reports from London indicate that scores of crisis managers are being recruited by the government to deal with any potential disruption to food, fuel and medicine supplies when the Brexit transition period ends on December 31st.
The Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is reportedly hiring 80 “emergency response managers” on rates of up to £550 a day to handle “any potential issues that could arise at the end of the transition period”.
Nice work if you can get it. At the same time it doesn’t exactly inspire confidence about what lies ahead!
