Reports that the coronavirus that causes covid 19 can live for 28 days on phone screens and findings that the virus may well also survive on fresh and frozen food raise the stakes in the fight against covid.
Australian researchers from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation said that the virus was proving extremely robust.
The one caveat in their research is that it was carried out in the dark as it is known that ultraviolet light harms the virus.
Thankfully for most of us sunlight tends to be part of the everyday experience!
