Irish exports to Britain fell by 12 per cent in July, compared to the same month last year according to the CSO.
The value of goods exported in the first seven months of the year was €6.8 billion, €1.1 billion down on last year. In the half year that was in it, that’s probably not bad going at all.
Comparative figures next year after the Brexit transition period ends will be the figures to watch out for.
