TILLAGE CALL

There’s been a call put out to farmers throughout Ireland to produce more tillage in the years ahead.

The shortage of straw seems to be a pressing issue in agri-circles year after year.

It is not regarded as a profitable venture though according to many who till the land.

It’s another case where market forces don’t seem to answer the needs of the farming sector.
