This time last year we were in the summer of Brexit, which seemed somewhat madcap and rollercoasterish.
This year we are in the summer of Covid, and once again events and news stories are on a rollercoaster ride. With quarantines and lockdowns popping up like mushrooms, student exam results causing political upheaval, the political blame game on-going around the world with regard to the responses to the virus.
On top US epidemiologist has suggested that covid 19 will be with us for eternity so we’re going to have to get used to it - now there’s a cheery thought for the summer.
Another new story tells us that scientists now believe that our body’s responses to Covid will provide long lasting immunity. Then promptly another report comes along that says protective antibodies only last a few months. Let’s hope it's the former!
