Sometimes the world of science throws up new ideas that make the mind boggle. Researchers at Flinders University in Adelaide Australia, have come up with a new rubber which can seal it's own punctures within a few minutes.
The material, made from sulphur, canola cooking oil and dicyclopentadiene from petroleum refining, acts like a glue waiting for a prompt to become sticky. The rubber is repaired and returned to its original strength once it reacts with an amine catalyst.
