Apparently one in four mushrooms sold in UK supermarkets has travelled more than 800 miles — despite British producers being able to supply the country, a new report says.
Nearly half of shoppers said they had bought food and wrongly assumed it was sourced in Britain and Ireland, according to a study by industry body the Mushroom Bureau.
Stalker reckons it always pays to look at the packaging if one is after locally produced food.
