The old weather lore predicts that if Candlemas Day (February 2nd) is bright and clear, there'll be two winters in the year. And this year it was so, hence another month and a half of winter will follow if the old saying holds true.
Thus far with storms, winds, hail and snow, the old weather lore seems to be holding up well.
Candlemas was preceded by the old Celtic festival of Imbolc - the festival of staging from darkness into light.
More recently the same day marked Groundhog Day, made famous by the movie of the same name. Stalker watched it again recently - it felt a bit like Groundhog Day.
