The pound sterling gained a bit of traction on the currency markets in mid-Feb, just after the UK government cabinet reshuffle.
The pound surged to £1 = €1.20, the highest mark sterling has reached in years against the European currency.
Certainly the currency level has moved well away from the red zone for Irish mushroom growers. €1 buys 83p, those rendering Irish mushrooms cheaper in the GB marketplace.
