Reports last month on the oldest mushroom fossil ever found were pretty incredible.

To find something that is nearly a billion years old that is identifiably a mushroom boggles the mind. Deep time always boggles the brain.

Stalker  is sure that there was scope for manys a joke about the oldest mushroom industry fossil in Ireland.
