A collaboration between UK firm JenAct and American company Xenon has led to a breakthrough that promises a major boost to the mushroom sector apparently.
The newly developed machine helps enrich vitamin D in mushrooms - something which is gaining a lot more publicity lately.
Pulsed UV light can increase the vitamin content of the mushrooms from 10 per cent of the recommended daily allowance to 200 per cent RDA.
Expect more vitamin D boosted mushrooms on the market in the coming year.
