Farmers and the general public in Ireland with an interest in rural affairs are being encouraged to have their say on how Ireland’s agriculture sector can best meet its climate ambitions.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has developed “Ag-Climatise” a draft ‘National Climate & Air Roadmap for the Agriculture Sector to 2030 and Beyond’. It’s available on the Department’s website. The agri-food sector is to play its part reducing emissions by between 10 and 15 per cent by 2030.
They would like to hear views from a wide range of rural and agriculture sources - it is hoped the consultation will inform the development of the next food strategy to 2030 and the CAP post -2020 strategic planning process.
The consultation is open until Friday January 10, 2020 - so click along to the website to complete the questionnaire or send written submissions, observations or comments by email or post to the Department.
