Beer by-products are set to be converted into renewable fuel following a research breakthrough from Queens University in Belfast.

A researcher at the School Of Chemistry And Chemical Engineering at QUB has found a way to turn the leftover grain into a highly usable fuel.

It may not come under the term renewable, but it is a highly ingenious use of an industrial waste product.
