ONE YEAR ON

Oil prices last year were significantly lower than they are at present. Last year a barrel of crude was trading at close to $50 per unit.

This year crude prices are hovering around $65 a barrel, and prices are creeping up on the back of output cuts.

Prices are up almost 2% at the start of December after Opec and its allies voted to cut production by another 500,000 barrels.
