The National Poisons Information Centre at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin said this month:
“We would advise members of the public not to pick or ingest wild mushrooms unless there is a trained mycologist to identify them. Many mushroom varieties can cause harmful effects, including liver and kidney damage.”
