The UK’s multiple retailer Sainsbury’s has warned Irish suppliers that they will bear the brunt of import duties in the event of a no-deal Brexit. Paul Kelly, head of Food and Drink Ireland has said that Irish food suppliers to the UK would struggle with higher tariffs. With uncertainty still rife over the new deal proposed by Boris Johnson, there’s still a chance of a no deal. Ructions, wrangling and plenty more bluster and blather seem to be the order of the day.
