A note in the national business pages caught Stalker's eye on Friday 13th of December. Entitled "Rebel Mushrooms"- Stalker was intrigued.
- "Investors and analysts are on the warpath. No sooner have they started to calm themselves over Cable & Wireless's unexpected £1.5bn potential tax liability than BAE Systems' "we've only just realised" potential £1bn hit comes along to make them once again fear that they are being treated like mushrooms. There are clear stock market rules about what must be disclosed and when, and it is unclear in both these cases whether they have been followed to the letter, let alone in spirit."
Irish mushrooms are of course treated with tender loving care and total respect – surely that's not what the journalist meant.
