Ireland’s EU Commissioner Phil Hogan has now taken over the trade portfolio which puts him in a pivotal position at this crux time in the Brexit talks.
He has intimated that there has been movement on both sides in the talks in September.
However every day brings glimmers of hope, then subsequent damping down of hope that there will be some unlocking of the Brexit impasse.
Looking at the rate of sterling gives some idea that markets are beginning to believe that a no-deal is less likely. Looks like we’ll know by October 17th is there is a deal to be done. Crux times indeed.
Good luck to Commissioner Hogan at this crucial time for the EU, the UK and Ireland.
