There’s been a lot of chat about the implementation of an all-island agri-food regime to mitigate the problems facing the sector in the event of a no-deal exit.
The problems envisaged for the agri-food sector in a no deal scenario could be avoided with some new regulatory framework to avoid inspections and tariffs and all the attendant hold-ups caused by the no-deal schism.
Stalker can’t see that other business sectors wouldn’t demand the same kind of regimes.
There is a scenario where Northern Ireland could have the best of both worlds - but will the wording be found to ease the political tension around the issue? We’ll just have to wait and see.
