After the poor August weather in Ireland - much rain and then some more, the September weather was a slight improvement.
August rainfall was as high as 276 per cent of normal in some parts of the country.Talk of an Indian summer was rife in the harvest month.
With the tail end of hurricane Dorian we got some more rain, but thankfully that was all.
In the UK meanwhile, Southern England had a baking summer. Wales and the North got some heavy rainfall, with extreme flooding events too.
As we head towards the end of September everything looks settled and the UK and Ireland are set to experience good weather. Heading into October and the stormier end of the season there’s no indications yet of what is to come. It could be politically stormy, but climatically more settled if we’re lucky!
