The latest from North America is that Highline Mushrooms in Calgary are building a new $20 million facility. The new mushroom farm is expected to create at least 120 new jobs.
Expansion by Highline comes after some political indications from government that it will be re-examining some prior legislation that delisted mushroom growing as primary agriculture.
”This directly influenced our decision to move forward on our farm expansion plans,” Highline Mushrooms CEO Aaron Hamer said.
“Our new farm expansion is moving forward thanks to our ‘Open for Business’ philosophy.” That sounds like the right attitude for sure!
