Marks & Spencer are in the midst of a revamp after two years of falling food sales. Larger stores, lower prices, more family -sized food packs and a giant oinking Percy Pigs are all part of the new look.
Also highlighting new ethical standards and sustainability efforts Marks is testing cardboard containers for mushrooms and tomatoes, and removing plastic bags as much as possible. Trials of the new cardboard packs for mushrooms are happening now in their Hempstead Valley store.
One can be sure that with the clamour for alternatives to plastic packaging ever-increasing, there will be new ways ( or maybe old ways) of packaging mushrooms on the horizon, for all the major food retailers.
