The AMI - American Mushroom Institute - has reported that U.S. mushroom growers are facing rising costs.
Factors include climate volatility, continued labour issues, changes in consumer preferences, transportation expenses and other factors. One can usually transpose the factors affecting the industry from one locale to another.
Irish mushroom growers face much the same problems with the added large bugbear of Brexit and attendant currency fluctuations to boot. Of course there is no Irish Mushroom Institute to relay this to us.
