Celebrity chef Nadiya Hussain, winner of 2015’s Great British Bake Off, is a big fan of mushrooms it would appear.
In her new series Nadiya's Time to Eat, she will be visiting a mushroom growing “factory” apparently; and making such delights as tortillas coated in beaten egg and rolled up with mushrooms, dried parsley.
She also likes to crack the old mushroom joke in the context of Brexit - well someone had to do it:
“Why is living through Brexit like being a mushroom? Because you’re kept in the dark and every so often someone comes and throws a bucket of poo over you.”
Stalker will be glued to the new series to pick up any cooking tips, and hopefully there will be a wee boost to the demand for fresh produce after it's airing.
You can catch the series primetime Monday 8 p.m. on BBC2 or on the BBC iPlayer.
