No-one traversing the highways and byways of Ireland this May can have failed to notice the profusion of haw blossom in the hedgerows.
The bushes and trees are laden with the bloom. Stalker has a feeling that the last time the hedges were so profusely in blossom was the year before the big freeze.
Although any causality cannot be detected, it will be interesting to see how next winter pans out.
More likely though the super summer of last year is responsible for this year's florescence.
The general weather in May has been pretty clement, with the odd overnight frost, but plenty of sunshine and warmth. Wet at the end though.
