The pound sterling reached €1.17 on the currency exchange markets at the end of February - and has hovered about that mark since.
Traders on the currency markets feel that the chances of a no deal are receding, and thus the chances of a deal or even no Brexit at all seem to be enhanced.
Hence the strengthening of the pound against the euro. It has to be said though that the markets have been wrong before.
The marginal nature of the uptick is a reminder of the uncertainty that still rules the markets.
