Greggs, the UK’s largest bakery chain, have launched a vegan sausage roll this month, tapping into that veganuary feeling and the general upswing in vegan and vegetarian sentiment.
The new “sausage” rolls have 96 layers of light and crisp puff pastry and are made with vegetable oil and a ‘bespoke’ Quorn filling. They’re flying off the shelves apparently.
That’s another fungal filling for the vegans amongst us to lap up. Greggs sell approximately 1.5m traditional pork sausage rolls a week.
