The Ulster's Farmers Union cautiously welcomed the Agreement forged between the UK government and the EU. Most Northern business leaders did likewise. But it looks very much like the deal will be voted down in parliament.
The hopes of a smooth exit from the EU is looking more and more unlikely in the run up to the crunch votes in the Houses of Parliament.
Of course there is still time to salvage an orderly exit, or the more unlikely eventuality of a non-exit outcome. It’s like that world cup football saying - “they think it’s all over, it is now!”; except it isn’t.
No matter what transpires in the next few weeks and months one can rest assured that there’s a lot more wrangling and dealing to be done.
