APPLE BLOSSOMED
One bonus from the very hot dry weather we experienced over spring and summer was a fantastic crop of Bramley apples from the Armagh orchards. Stalker had heard that the apple harvest was good the year, and also that there was glut of the bramleys in the Loughgall area of Co. Armagh. Happily a box of the green gold made its way into Stalker’s welcoming arms. It’s hard to beat the stewed apples, apple tarts and apple sauce that can be easily made from the incomparable Bramleys. Stalker is aiming to make a tarte tatin someday soon! It’s very hard to beat the best of local produce when it abounds.
