One year on from Storm Ophelia, which brought the first ever “red alert” over the whole of Ireland, we’ve been experiencing pretty calm and clement weather in the month of October.
Some balmy days, more reminiscent of summer, have also staved off the intimations of winter. The leaf colours in the country have been likened to the glorious fall displays seen in New England and such places.
Of course the mushrooms have been popping up all over the place too in their droves, thanks to the elemental conditions.
Once again we may perceive that the seasons are out of kilter - but thankfully we have seen nothing thus far as destructive as Ophelia on this island.
