The larger supermarket chains in Ireland have asked suppliers to conduct mapping exercises to track where their products originated as part of planning for Brexit.
Making sure that supplies are not interrupted is the major cause for concern for the supermarkets, especially in the event of a no-deal scenario.
Even if there is a good deal done, the powers that be say that it will not be as good as what is already extant.
So a reality check is what is deemed necessary at the moment, and as one supplier said “ Being Brexit ready is as best as you can do to cover yourself.”
