The end of August also saw news that American spawn company Sylvan Inc. was acquired by Chinese mushroom growing outfit Yuguan. Big news in the world of mushrooms!
CEO of Sylvan Mark Snyder said the company “ was entering a new and exciting era as a global player.” The Yuguan Group is involved in mushroom growing, processing and sales for the past 30 years - it produces its own compost, runs satellite farms and provides training for its operations.
The companies leaders expect that day to day operations for both entities will run along as usual. Snyder said “ we do not expect this transaction to impact Sylvan’s day to day business operations or engagement with our customers.”
