The heat wave that has hit the country this summer has also wrought devastation to farms all across Europe.

Straw prices have already tripled in some European countries, crops have struggled, or simply withered in the fields.

The bottom line is that the summer extremes will have major knock-on effects into food supply come autumn and winter.
