Senior execs at the UK’s big four supermarket stores have warned the Treasury of huge tariffs on EU imports.
They reckon that the average weekly food basket would increase by as much as 12 percent if a no-deal Brexit happens.
Tariffs on cheese, beef and chicken would all rise. Would Irish mushrooms also have tariffs on them? Food security is becoming an issue in the run up to the crunch October deadline. One wonders will British consumers be having a meal deal or a no-deal meal come next year?
