There’s been a story rumbling through the UK press this past few years of the mushroom grower and his wife.
Herself is seeking a divorce, and himself doesn’t want it, and the laws that be seem unable to grant it. The case is going all the way to the Supreme Court and is not likely to be sorted out for a year or two yet.
While reading an article on Brexit recently Stalker noticed that the author likened a vindictive approach to the UK leaving the EU to the stance of the elderly mushroom grower who refuses to allow his wife to divorce him.
Always looking for the mushroom angle in the Brexit stories, Stalkercouldn’t help but salute this metaphor from the British viewpoint. But as in all cases of this kind, amicable solutions are not always realisable.
