Stalker was very saddened to hear about the passing of Oliver McCann on June 25th 2018, a true pillar of the mushroom industry in the North.
Hailing from Loughgall in Co. Armagh Oliver worked for many different organisations in his time, with the Department of Agriculture, Monaghan Mushrooms, Reen Compost and Tandragee Compost.
He was also renowned in horse racing circles as the voice of the Northern Ireland point-to -point circuit.
Oliver also wrote for The Mushroom People back in the early days in his Reen Rover guise, dispensing wisdom and wit in equal measure.
An all rounder who was full of the crack, his passing truly marks the end of an era in the local industry.
Condolences are offered to the family circle and his wife Teresa.
