The Belfast Telegraph reported in late June that the Button Farm Mushrooms facility was going up for sale , with a potential list price of £2million.
The estate agent, Lisney which is handling the sale, confirmed that over £2m was invested in the plant, which has six growing tunnels. There have been strong expressions of interest from both sides of the border apparently. The agent described the listing as "rare".
"This has been developed on a bespoke basis for that industry as opposed to some of the other facilities that are probably converted agricultural.
So it is certainly quite unique." Up to 40 jobs were lost at the site when PwC was appointed as administrator.
