SHORT STRAW

Reports from a around the country indicate that a significant decrease in straw availability looks likely this harvest.

The fodder crisis of the winter months is seemingly now followed by dry hot weather conditions affecting the straw harvest.

While the cereal crop area is down, the straw yield also looks like it will decrease – particularly in spring crops.

On the bright side it appears  that the majority of winter crops look to be performing well.
