The news of a bust up in New York City over the naming of a street overlooking Central Park raised eyebrows.
The local NYC fungi group wanted to name the street after one of their own who had helped forage and teach mycology to generations of interested fungiphiles in the city.
It is a lovely idea to have local places named after local people who help realise the full potential of an area - but it is always a good idea to get the local community fully on board before any change.
