There’s a Teagasc sponsored seminar upcoming in August on Sustainability in the Agri-food Sector.
The 166th EAAE seminar at the National University of Ireland In Galway is organised by Teagasc, NUI Galway and the FLINT consortium in conjunction with the European Region of Gastronomy designation which was awarded to Galway in 2018.
The seminar will provide an opportunity to present and discuss progress in the analysis of sustainability in agriculture and extension approaches to incentivize farmers to adopt sustainable farm management practices.
Sustainability has become on the the dominant themes for the development of the agricultural industry. As a land based sector, agriculture has a major impact on the natural capital of rural areas in general and specifically on the economy, the environment and society. The drive towards sustainable agriculture is central to the Sustainable Development Goals that have been set out by government.
The seminar takes place on 30-31 August , for more information check www.teagasc.ie/events or www.galwaygastronomy.ie.
