One correspondent to Stalker this month bemoaned the lack of local produce in local shops lately. He mentioned strawberries, all from Scotland, none from the locality at all. Then he fulminated about buying mushrooms in one of the large multiples recently, only to see that the fresh produce was from Scotland, not a locally grown mushrooms. The vagaries of a centralised supply system do throw up these situations now and again. But he saved his most vicious opprobrium for some water that he’d spotted in his local supermarket. The H2O in question was from Canada no less. Well Stalker thought the chap was about to blow his stack about that one!
