It was a good year for the mushrooms at this year’s Balmoral Show.
Andrew Shanks, the farm manager of Tyholland Mushrooms in Co. Monaghan, scooped the Young Producer Award.
The award champions innovative individuals whose technical ability or business aptitude promises to make a positive impact on their sector . Monaghan Mushrooms are no strangers to getting awards at the Balmoral show. In 2015 at the food hall, a Monaghan producer for Marks & Spencer was acknowledged for his excellence in innovation in the M&S ‘Farming for the Future’ awards.
