Stalker just happened to catch the RTE Radio 1 Business Programme on Saturday morning the 19th of May.
Luckily too, for on it was an interview with Monaghan Mushrooms CEO Ronnie Wilson, in a wide ranging discussion about his company, the mushroom industry and the future. It was a very elucidating interview, with many interesting facts and figures mentioned.
The fact that Mr Wilson now sees Monaghan Mushrooms primarily as a biotech business shows how far the company and the industry has come. He suggested that bio-base economy in Ireland is growing at an unprecedented rate, and that the future for the mushroom industry lies there.
With over 45% of the UK market share and up to 4000 employees, who would be doubting the words of the CEO.
