New car sales in Britain, Ireland and Northern Ireland have all recorded large downturns. The fall in new car sales by up to 15 per cent in March has surprised industry watchers.
In Britain the average age of a car on the road now is at its highest level since the turn of the millennium. Looks like drivers are holding on to their motors for no longer now - probably due to confusion over what fuel type to upgrade to.
Electric vehicle purchases are on the rise, while diesel has plummeted due to all the bad press of late!
